Dr. Linda K. Moore, a native of Quincy and a 1981 graduate of Quincy University, started her career in higher education as an admissions counselor and athletic recruiter. Moore continued her career in college athletics as the Associate Commissioner for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and later as the Assistant Athletic Director at St. Louis University before moving into event management. Dr. Moore managed or consulted on a number of professional sport and Olympic projects including the St. Louis Steamers, St. Louis Cardinals, U.S. Cycling Federation, Demetrious Johnson Foundation, and the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. In October 1996, Moore joined ESPN Productions Inc. where she led the X Games franchise until her retirement in January 2016. From participant services, competition management, and more recently as Sr. Director, Business Operations & Planning, Moore led the financial, legal, and business aspects of the franchise.

 

While her work has led to many successes in the business world, her philanthropic efforts top the list of her greatest achievements. From raising $1 million for the V Foundation for Cancer Research through the ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic to chairing the fundraising committee to build Legends Stadium at Quincy University (QU), Moore believes in giving back. She is currently serving her second term on the Board of Trustees of QU. She also serves on the executive board of Friends of the Castle overseeing the Villa Kathrine and the Tourist Information Center in Quincy, the Western Catholic Union Board of Trustees, and the City of Quincy Strategic Planning Committee.

 

Dr. Moore has a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy and a Doctor of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Quincy University, an independent contractor with Rodan + Fields Skincare, and an Ambassador for Plexus Worldwide.

Courses taught include Advanced Business Communications, Advanced Organizational Communications, Introduction to Communications Research, Visual Communications, Integrated Marketing, and Crisis Communications. Lead the organization in developing a global site selection program by defining and executing a competitive bid process to identify future Host Cities; led contract negoatiation phase to execute 3 Host City contracts in 10 days before global announcement could be made; collaborated with senior leaders to create an organizational model to meet the changing landscape of executing 6 events in locations around the world; monitor a global P&L of $94 million annually; identify event operating efficiencies through joint management from local organizing committees; collaborate with other administrative functions including legal, finance, accounting, and human resources to execute the X Games business plan.

            Lead the development of new revenue streams for the Global X Games franchise with emphasis   on consumer products, enterprise units, and the Asia-PacRim region.
